Job Summary
Manage daily operations and production activities for power plant personnel, directing work on commissioning, control room operations, crane operations, vehicle maintenance, plant maintenance, IC&E, and water treatment. Supervise operators across all aspects of plant functions, issue economic dispatch instructions, and maintain optimum water balance while overseeing the plant chemistry program. Develop and coordinate safety programs, including training certifications, compliance, and tag-out procedures, ensuring all local, State, and Federal regulations are met. Accountable for maintaining up-to-date environmental and permit requirements, ensuring compliance reports are complete and submitted timely. Assist in developing plant operating budgets and make tactical decisions on resources and project approaches. This role supports Calpine's mission as America's largest natural gas and geothermal electricity generator, serving customers in 22 states and Canada.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, degree from technical/vocational school or equivalent
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Previous work leadership or senior level contributor experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of power plant operations experience
- Heavy frame combustion turbine background
- Strong computer skills including experience working with spreadsheets, databases and word processing software
- Valid state driver's license
