Job Summary
Plan, direct, and monitor all production activities within an assigned area or unit to maximize the use of resources and meet established production specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage targets, and quality standards. Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures, allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity, and identify and implement year-over-year cost savings and cost reduction projects. Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions to improve performance. Collaborate with operational excellence to maximize capacity, identify cost improvements, and reduce standard cost of product. Liaise with functional or operational area managers to understand current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities. Uphold safety standards for the manufacturing and operations team. Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions. Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of supervisors responsible for various production activities such as assembly, machine operation, processing, treating, or packaging.
Required Qualifications
- Education Level: Associate Degree (± 13 years); Bachelor Degree preferred, Engineering degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Experience in manufacturing of Class 2 and Class 3 medical devices (preferred)
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor production activities
- Ability to develop capacity models and long-range planning
- Experience with cost savings and cost reduction projects
- Strong liaison with functional managers in supply/logistics or engineering
- Commitment to safety standards
- Leadership of a team of supervisors for production activities
