Job Summary
Manager, Operational Risk for the Retail Advice and Solutions portfolio leads risk assessments, identifies and prioritizes opportunities to improve risk management, and chairs the rollout of new risk and compliance requirements. The role partners with Canadian leadership and second line of defence stakeholders to assess operational risks, design and maintain control environments, and provide risk consulting on key projects and digital initiatives. Responsibilities include presenting findings at Risk Steering Committees, delivering insightful risk analysis and reporting, supporting audits and regulatory reviews, and coaching Operational Risk Consultants. The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least five years of risk-management experience, strong analytical and communication skills, familiarity with regulatory standards, and professional certifications such as PRM or CSI. A hybrid work arrangement is offered, with options to work from the office in Canada or virtually depending on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the security dealer or financial service industry
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to security dealer
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, influence stakeholders
- Professional certifications such as PRM (professional Risk Manager), CSI (Canadian Securities Courses)
