Job Summary
Develop and execute strategies to expand the volunteer program, including recruiting, scheduling, and cultivating community and corporate groups. Supervise Volunteer Engagement Coordinators across all locations while managing the department budget and volunteer database. Create a sense of community by integrating volunteers into organizational committees and providing training on the agency's mission. Oversee scheduling for programs, special events, and food drives, and manage volunteer issues to maintain a positive environment. Maintain volunteer records in Salesforce, generate metrics reports for staff and the board, and track program successes to recommend improvements. Act as an ambassador to the larger community and collaborate with the Development team to steward relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a human services field
- Two years of experience overseeing volunteer programs serving at least 100 volunteers annually
- At least one year of staff management and coaching experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends
- Possesses an upbeat, 'can do' approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent project management skills, including ability to handle multiple assignments prioritizing and meeting deadlines
- Easily navigates technology; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other desktop publishing tools
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective presentations to both small and large groups
- Ability to authentically communicate the history and mission of Nourishing Hope and confidently present to groups of volunteers
- An understanding of, and belief in, the importance of food security for everyone
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Salesforce strongly preferred
