Manager of Teen Programming

Job Summary

Lead daily operations of tween and teen programming at the Main Branch Club, supervising five special positions across Lincoln Middle School, Paul Revere, and Santa Monica High School. Develop and implement engaging program schedules, manage staff hiring, training, and performance, and guide positive youth development aligned with organizational strategy. Serve as an expert on Youth of the Year, Torch Club, and Keystone competitions while auditing safety protocols and collaborating with school partners and community members. Partner with senior leadership to evaluate program effectiveness, implement grants, and leverage data tools like My Club Hub to drive impact.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience developing curriculum and programming for middle school and high school youth with an understanding of SEL and trauma-informed practice
  • Prior experience working with youth in a K-12 setting
  • Knowledge of local school districts in Santa Monica or LA
  • Experience guiding youth workforce development and college readiness practices for teens
  • Experience supervising and managing either direct service teams, staff, volunteers, or interns
  • Demonstrated experiences mentoring or coaching
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to include managing deadlines, documenting practices, facilitating team meetings, and building a high performing team
  • Demonstrated administrative and technological skills for data and systems management, process documentation, excellent logistical skills for scheduling, and project management
  • Experience designing and running after school programs, creating engaging field trips, and youth development programming
  • Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate your ideas clearly and for diverse audiences
  • Experience with digital platforms: Teams, Zoom, Excel, PowerPoint, and case management or databases
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in youth development, out-of-school-time programming, or related nonprofit leadership roles
  • At least 2 years of staff supervision experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Demonstrated supervision of volunteers and/or interns will be considered
  • Broad knowledge base and understanding of Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District, Los Angeles Unified School District, youth serving nonprofits, working with government and program partners
  • Training and understanding of trauma-informed practices, SEL curriculum, and motivational interviewing
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, project management, including experience with Teams, Zoom, databases, and Microsoft 365 related applications
  • Familiarity with grants, supply orders, and program budgeting

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Social Work, Youth Development, Sociology, Public Administration, or related field is preferred but not required
  • Equivalent years of experience in these fields will be considered
