Job Summary
Manager of Sterile Processing oversees day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing and Central Supply departments, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and hospital policies. Responsible for coordinating decontamination, reprocessing, sterilization of instruments, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and record-keeping to meet federal/state/accreditation requirements. Supervises staff, assists the Director of Materials Management, and leads training/orientation of new staff, with a focus on CARES standards (Communication, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, Safety). The role requires prior supervisory experience in Sterile Processing, and certification as a Sterile Processing Technician.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Five years experience in Sterile Processing
- One year supervisory experience or 3 years in lead capacity
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician OR Cert Sterile Process Tech (Required at hire)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aseptic and Sterile technique
- Standards of AAMI and AORN
- Medical and surgical terminology, supplies and equipment
