Job Summary
Collaborate with engineers to design, build, and deploy Java-based microservices in a data-intensive, scalable environment on AWS. Lead architectural discussions, contribute to service APIs, promote TDD/BDD, drive code reviews, and foster a culture of inclusion. Manage teams delivering secure, resilient, and observable software systems using Kafka, Kubernetes, Redis, and cloud services; participate in communities of practice and coaching.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience in software engineering
- 8+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems with large data volumes and real-time distribution
- Solid Java proficiency with a strong willingness to code hands-on
- Practical understanding of CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, and agile, test-driven delivery
- Hands-on experience with reactive, non-blocking, streaming Java; microservices; domain-driven design; and cloud technologies
- Experience with: Caching (Redis, GemFire, Apache Ignite); Messaging/streaming (Kafka, IBM MQ); REST APIs; SQL and NoSQL databases; event-driven architectures
- Preferred:Spring ecosystem and AWS cloud services; familiarity with trading systems; problem-solving with pragmatic hands-on approach
- Continuous learner and early adopter of emerging technologies
