Manager of Software Engineering - Full Stack/React/AWS

Job Summary

Lead multiple software engineering teams by guiding daily tasks, setting output expectations, and mentoring engineers on reliability, performance, risk, cybersecurity, and legal compliance. Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC automation to improve delivery speed and operational outcomes while ensuring secure handling of inputs and outputs. Develop secure high-quality production code, review and debug others' work, and execute creative software solutions that break down technical problems. Apply knowledge of the React, AWS, and Java toolchain to prototype AI-enabled workflows, translate stakeholder needs into technical designs, and automate remediation of recurring issues. Manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying escalated issues and ensuring adherence to business requirements and tactical best practices within the Consumer and Community Banking team.

Required Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts
  • 5+ years applied experience
  • demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
  • Experience managing technologyist and leading technology projects
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) (e.g. UI technology stack - React JS, CSS/HTML, JAVA, Spring Framework, AWS Cloud only, etc.)
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical AWS experience (e.g., proficiency with AWS services - EKS, ECS, PostgreSQL, Lambda, S3, etc.)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including defining ways of working (review/validation expectations), measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of data
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and governance expectations with ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective usage
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
