Job Summary
Manager of Software Engineering for Data Engineering at JPMorgan Chase in the Consumer and Community Banking division, leading an engineering team within the Trust and Security Technology group. Responsible for day-to-day implementation activities, guiding engineers, setting team output and collaboration standards, anticipating cross-team dependencies, managing stakeholder relationships to comply with standards and SLAs, and fostering diversity and inclusion. Requires formal software engineering training and 5+ years of applied experience, plus demonstrated leadership of technologists and expertise in AWS, Java, Spark, ETL pipelines, CI/CD, SDLC, OOP, design patterns, and Agile practices. Preferred familiarity with Spring ecosystem and financial services IT systems.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience in software engineering
- 2+ years experience leading technologists
- Experience leading technology projects
- Proficiency developing Data intensive applications or ETL pipelines using AWS , Java and spark
- Experience with Apache Spark, Spark's core concepts, including RDDs, Data Frames, and Spark SQL
- Experience managing technologists
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle - OOP principles and design patterns
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2,S3, Lambda) and deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
- Spring Ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Data.
