Manager of Payor and Market Strategy

Job Summary
Negotiate and renegotiate contracts with managed care companies and health plans representing 70% of the health system's revenues. Analyze contract opportunities to increase market share, develop rate structures for inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services, and evaluate proposals using EPIC modeling and Excel. Educate internal departments on reimbursement models and ensure all contract terms comply with laws and UKHS policies. Monitor contract performance, identify compliance issues, and resolve disputes with payers while maintaining accurate reporting for budget and revenue projections. Serve as the primary liaison between Revenue Cycle, clinical operations, and external stakeholders to manage renewals, amendments, and credentialing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or similar field from an accredited college or university
- 4 or more years of experience in a healthcare organization or within health industry in a financial or technical position or other equivalent work experience
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Employment with the health system is contingent upon, among other things, agreeing to the health-system-dispute-resolution-program.pdf and signing the agreement to the DRP
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or similar field from an accredited college or university
- Experience in a large healthcare organization or academic medical center in managed care contracting or financial modeling/analytics
