Job Summary
Lead the development, launch, and day-to-day operations of the ophthalmology program at SAC, establishing foundational policies for staff education, quality, risk management, and financial oversight. Build and retain a high-performing perioperative team by fostering interprofessional collaboration and accountability while driving innovative care delivery models to improve efficiency and patient flow. Manage early-stage quality improvement initiatives and special projects, providing hands-on fiscal stewardship through budget development, inventory optimization, and equipment planning. Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Schroeder Ambulatory Centre policies for yourself and all supervised staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- 5+ years of experience in Perioperative Services or Operating Room settings
- Hands-on exposure to ophthalmology
- Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check/vulnerable sector check
- Provide proof of Immunization and TB records
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Recent, relevant managerial experience leading teams in dynamic environments
- Proven ability to build and scale high-performing perioperative programs
- Track record of driving innovation, implementing process improvements, developing policies, and inspiring creativity and collaboration
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to anticipate challenges, solve problems proactively, and make data-driven decisions in real time
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability under pressure
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines while guiding teams through growth, change, and expansion
