Job Summary
Oversees 24-hour operational responsibility for patient care delivery and quality in designated nursing areas within Houston Methodist The Woodlands, providing interdepartmental collaboration, performance initiatives, and staff development. Leads staffing decisions, budgeting, coaching and counseling, policy development and implementation to ensure safe, effective work environments and regulatory/ accreditation compliance; requires RN licensure in Texas and a Bachelor’s degree or higher with several years of nursing and leadership experience, plus certifications such as BLS and Magnet (ACLS/NIV use as department needs). Demonstrates strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication to optimize patient safety, outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing
- Three years’ nursing experience; one year in progressive healthcare leadership (two years HM experience if internal)
- RN - Texas State Licensure; Texas Board of Nursing_PS V Compact Licensure – must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification (ANCC) within 1 year; NIHSTROKE/CPI as department requirements (as applicable)
