Job Summary
Manage the day-to-day operations, stability, and performance of the firm's enterprise network services, including WAN/LAN, firewalls, routing and switching, wireless, VPN, load balancing, and segmented network environments. Lead and supervise network engineers, providing technical guidance, work prioritization, coaching, performance management, and professional development. Execute network upgrades, enhancements, and remediation initiatives in alignment with firmwide standards, roadmaps, and change-management practices. Oversee regular patching of various network infrastructure components and serve as the primary operational escalation point for network-related incidents, coordinating troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and timely resolution. Collaborate with the cybersecurity function to implement required security controls and monitoring while maintaining clear separation of ownership. Monitor network availability, capacity, and performance metrics; analyze trends and recommend improvements to enhance resiliency and service quality. Maintain accurate and current network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures, and runbooks. Support vendor and managed service provider relationships, including coordination, performance monitoring, and issue escalation, under the direction of the Director. Participate in on-call escalation and incident response activities as required. Ensure all network operations and changes comply with established governance, security, and risk-management requirements appropriate for a law firm environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Six or more years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure operations within a large-scale, multi-site or professional services environment
- Three or more years of experience leading or supervising technical staff, including network engineers or network analysts/administrators
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in enterprise network technologies, including routing and switching, WAN/LAN design, VPN solutions, wireless networking, and network segmentation
- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments, including data centers and cloud connectivity
- Proven ability to manage multiple operational priorities, incidents, and projects in a high-availability environment
- Experience working in partnership with cybersecurity teams to implement security requirements and remediation measures within network infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, and problem-resolution skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset appropriate to a professional services and law firm environment
