Manager of Medical Records

Job Summary

Plan, develop, and direct Medical Records services to ensure complete, accurate, and legally acceptable documentation. Supervise department employees, conduct quality improvement projects, compliance audits, and deficiency analysis while maintaining data integrity and release of information protocols. Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures, serve on the Corporate Compliance Committee, and assist with routine duties such as chart assembly and filing during absences. Maintain employee schedules, payroll sheets, and evaluations. Adhere to Federal and Missouri compliance regulations including HIDI, Medicare, and Medicaid. Perform physical tasks involving lifting heavy files and prolonged sitting for coding. Work 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional early or late hours for meetings. Maintain professional credentials and confidentiality in accordance with patient privacy rules.

Required Qualifications

  • RHIT/RHIA credential
  • standing within the American Health Information Management Association
