Job Summary

Manager of Materials responsible for scheduling, planning, and oversight of material procurement, production, and delivery within an automotive manufacturing environment. Develops and executes material plans, manages inventory and PFEP data, and ensures adherence to corporate supply chain policies. Leads continuous improvement initiatives, maintains ERP/MRP data accuracy (MfgPro and related systems), and collaborates with customers and suppliers to optimize material flow, reduce lead times, and sustain service levels. Requires 7+ years of materials management experience in automotive manufacturing, proficiency with material control and MRP systems, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to travel. Two Michigan-based sites (Auburn Hills and Lake Orion Plant) listed as in-person locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 7+ years Materials Management experience in the automotive industry
  • Proficiency with Material Control Systems and Materials Requirement Planning Systems (MRP)
  • Experience in scheduling, planning, and oversight of material procurement, production, and delivery
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Travel required: Yes
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements
  • APICS certification preferred

  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of ERP systems (e.g., MfgPro) and supplier relationship management
