Job Summary
Oversee dyslexia programming and compliance across a portfolio of schools, ensuring services align with TEA requirements, IDEA, and Section 504. Coach Assistant Principals of Student Support and Literacy Facilitators on evidence-based intervention practices while auditing documentation and progress monitoring systems. Strengthen Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy systems, develop staffing plans, and facilitate professional learning to improve student outcomes and reduce inappropriate special education referrals. Report to the Director of MTSS with a hybrid schedule and minimal travel to regional offices.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Reading, Literacy, Educational Leadership, or a related field
- Valid Texas teaching certification
- Texas Dyslexia certification/training (e.g., CALT, Certified Academic Language Therapist, or equivalent structured literacy training)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in literacy intervention, dyslexia services, MTSS, special education, or related instructional leadership roles
- Experience coaching teachers, interventionists, and/or campus leaders
- Reliable transportation for travel between campuses
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions
- Hybrid work availability: Reports to the central office or schools three days a week
- Ability to attend conferences, meetings and training sessions both virtually and in person within the Region
Desired Qualifications
- Special Education certification
- ELAR/Reading Language Arts certification
- ESL certification
- Bilingual certification
- Principal certification
- Instructional leadership experience
- Experience working within Texas public schools and knowledge of TEA dyslexia requirements
- Demonstrated experience implementing evidence-based literacy interventions and supporting struggling readers across Tier 2 and Tier 3 systems
