Job Summary
Establish and maintain the integrity of Mortenson's Kaizen-based continuous improvement approach across 23+ business units. Build Operating Group capabilities to consistently apply lean tools and techniques in diverse environments, including General Contractor, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Partner with Group Leaders and project teams to test, refine, and advocate for the thoughtful application of continuous improvement activities. Coach and develop key individuals to foster a culture of continuous improvement while driving business outcomes. Serve as a steward of the approach by constantly assessing effectiveness and facilitating the use of appropriate tools. Travel up to 75% to diverse locations in the continental U.S. to engage leaders and deliver improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related degree, or equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience
- Minimum of fifteen years' construction or manufacturing experience
- Minimum of ten years' experience in a continuous improvement or other operational functional role (e.g. Quality, Safety, Planning, Process Excellence)
- Ability to travel up to 75% to diverse locations in the continental U.S.
- Experience facilitating Kaizen
- Expert understand of Kaizen and how to apply it
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.)
