Job Summary
The Manager of Health and Safety is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide safety programs across a multi-site portfolio of retail, restaurant, and fueling operations. The role ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and state regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture. This position serves as a key liaison between Operations, Facilities, Risk Management, Legal, and external regulatory agencies. Key responsibilities include ensuring full OSHA/state/local compliance, leading response to OSHA inspections, managing GHS/SDS and chemical safety, overseeing incident reporting/investigation/root cause analysis, partnering with Risk Management on claims, developing OSHA training programs, driving field engagement, conducting site audits, overseeing vendor safety programs and driver safety, and developing the Health & Safety Management Action Plan with KPI reporting. Preferred qualifications include CSP certification and OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification. Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in safety, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive Health & Safety (EHS) experience, including multi-site responsibility
- Demonstrated experience managing safety programs across retail, restaurant (QSR), fueling, or similar distributed operations
- Proven experience leading OSHA inspections, regulatory responses, and external compliance interactions
- Strong experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective action programs
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Facilities, Legal, Risk Management, and Operations teams
- Experience overseeing vendors and contractor safety compliance across multiple sites
- Experience supporting claims management, insurance coordination, and risk mitigation efforts
- Certifications
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent certification (preferred)
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification (required)
