Job Summary
Manager of Health & Safety at Applegreen is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide safety programs across a multi-site portfolio of retail, restaurant, and fueling operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and state regulations, leading OSHA inspections and external audits, overseeing incident reporting and root cause analysis, developing OSHA training programs, driving field engagement and a proactive safety culture, conducting site audits, coordinating with Facilities, Legal, Risk Management, and Operations, overseeing vendor safety and driver safety programs, and supporting continuous improvement with KPI reporting and site development safety planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive Health & Safety (EHS) experience, including multi-site responsibility
- Demonstrated experience managing safety programs across retail, restaurant (QSR), fueling, or similar distributed operations
- Proven experience leading OSHA inspections, regulatory responses, and external compliance interactions
- Strong experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective action programs
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Facilities, Legal, Risk Management, and Operations teams
- Experience overseeing vendors and contractor safety compliance across multiple sites
- Experience supporting claims management, insurance coordination, and risk mitigation efforts
- Certifications: CSP (preferred)
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification (required)
