Job Summary
Oversee full lifecycle of fixed assets, including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals, ensuring proper classification in accordance with GAAP. Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger while managing construction-in-progress accounting and periodic physical inventory across facilities. Coordinate with facility preventative maintenance programs to optimize capital spend and reduce emergency purchases. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and CMS reimbursement regulations by supporting Medicare and Medicaid cost report preparation and assisting with external audits. Review and approve capital expenditure requests, partner with facility administrators on quarterly capital planning meetings, and enhance the five-year capital planning process. Track capital budgets versus actual spending and provide reporting on asset utilization. Lead onboarding of new affiliate entities onto the ERP Fixed Asset module and implement process improvements to standardize procedures across all sites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in health care accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP related to fixed assets and depreciation
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting
