Job Summary
Monitor all aspects of Emergency Department operations to promote quality customer service and positive guest relations via rounds and feedback mechanisms. Address and resolve patient/family complaints in real time while overseeing staff competency, development, discipline, and evaluations. Collaborate with ED Leadership to plan and monitor consistency in communications and operations, ensuring clinical areas maintain cleanliness and adequate supplies. Remain familiar with and strive for compliance with accreditation and certification standards from external agencies like JCAHO and OSHA. Participate in the development, monitoring, and evaluation of policies and procedures for all clinical areas. This role requires an RN with at least five years of nursing experience, including three years in emergency care. The position involves rotating night shifts at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina
- 5 years nursing experience
- 3 years emergency nursing experience
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
- Knowledge of growth and development and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care for the following patient categories: infant (0-12 months), toddler (13-30 months), preschooler (31 months-5 years), school age (6-12 years), adolescent (13-18 years), adulthood (19-30 years), middle adulthood (31-65 years) and older adulthood (>65 years)
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Effective organizational, teaching and leadership skills
- Knowledgeable of the physiological, psychosocial and spiritual needs of the patients typically served
- Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs
- Visual acuity for observation of patients
- Demonstrated good body mechanics
