Manager of Community Day Services

Job Summary

Direct the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Community Day Services, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and accreditation standards. Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and manage hiring, promotions, and performance appraisals using Paycom while developing staff skills and training. Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to implement Person-Centered Plans, manage budgets, and prepare billing and attendance reports for funders. Monitor operations, ensure safe transportation, and intervene in crisis situations as needed. Provide quality supervision to coordinators, leads, and assistants, and represent the agency through public education and facility tours.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field
  • Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) status
  • Five or more years of progressively more responsible administrative experience
  • Two years' work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness
  • Must currently have QIDP status or meet the qualifications to be approved as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) by the State of Illinois
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and diplomatically in both oral and written form
  • Must be able to manage a 12-month budget
  • Must be able to adapt to frequent change
  • Must be able to perform adequately when confronted with critical or unexpected issues
  • Must be able to make sound clinical judgments based on sound reasoning in daily and emergency situations
  • Must be able to write grant requests and develop resources
  • Must be able to understand job descriptions and quality control guidelines
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Must be able to provide quality supervision to paraprofessional and professional staff
  • Must be able to counsel, advise, teach, resolve conflicts, and direct staff and families
  • Must have reliable transportation to conduct agency business and/or to transport individuals served as needed
  • Must maintain a valid Illinois Drivers License
  • Must maintain a good Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must maintain personal auto insurance with minimum coverage of Bodily Injury-Liability per Person of $100,000 and Liability per Accident of $300,000, Property Liability of $100,000; Medical payments of $5,000; and Uninsured/Underinsured Person of $100,000 and Accident of $300,000
  • Must be able to complete MRI training requirements
  • Must be able to maintain payroll, financial, personnel, and information related to persons served as confidential
  • Must be able to summarize, synthesize, and analyze data/information
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop or kneel
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 or sufficient to complete job responsibilities
  • Exhibit manual dexterity
  • Adequate hearing
  • Must be able to utilize a phone, computer, wordprocessing software and E-mail and the filing system
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
