Job Summary
Director of Business Development for Hospice responsible for leading referral-growth in the assigned territory (Bay City & Kalamazoo Offices) as a growth engine. Lead development and execution of territory plans, deepen ethical referral relationships with hospitals, SNFs, and physicians, coach Regional Care Coordinators, collaborate with Branch Administrators, set CRM standards and monitor pipeline performance, work with clinical and operations leaders to ensure seamless referral-to-admission experience, deliver community presentations and educational in-services, provide market intelligence to leadership, and lead recruiting/onboarding of BD staff in partnership with HR. This role emphasizes building referral volume and ensuring patients find appropriate care, with travel across local territory as part of the duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Social Work, or related field
- 3–5+ years of business development, healthcare sales, or clinical liaison experience with hospice focus
- Demonstrated success growing hospice referrals through hospital, SNF, assisted living, physician, and community channels
- Experience coaching or leading teams in a matrixed or shared oversight environment preferred
- Deep knowledge of hospice eligibility, levels of care, Medicare regulations, and ethical referral practices
- Strong CRM proficiency with the ability to train others and manage territory performance through data
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation; ability to travel locally and regionally
- Genuine compassion for patients and families navigating end-of-life care
