Job Summary
Manager Nurse leads nursing care on the assigned unit in an assisted living environment, supervising CNAs and HHAs, ensuring safe, therapeutic resident care, administering medications per orders, documenting care, coordinating with physicians, and maintaining compliance with policies. Responsibilities include observing residents for pain, oxygen therapy, dressings, continence, and adverse effects; conducting systematic assessments; developing and implementing care plans; ensuring accurate transcription of medical orders; supervising nursing staff assignments; supervising meals and resident diets; emergency recognition and response; incident reporting; orientation of new staff; ensuring planned activities occur; and maintaining required records and monthly summaries. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience, active LPN/LVN or RN license in the state, 1+ years of nursing experience in a health care facility, proficiency in clinical nursing procedures, and strong supervisory and communication skills. Strong emphasis on teamwork, ethical patient care, and ongoing licensure maintenance; vaccination per policy unless exempt.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher
- LPN/LVN or RN license with current active license in the state of the facility
- 1+ years nursing experience in a health care facility
- Ability to supervise CNA’s and HHAs
- Ability to interpret assessments and develop care plans
- Medication administration per physician orders and adherence to policies
- Proficient documentation and charting
- Ability to respond to emergencies and life-threatening situations
- English fluency for communication with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and third parties
- Willingness to continue education credits to maintain licensure
- Experience in activity coordination and staff orientation
