Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to assigned residents by observing for pain, administering medications, and documenting accurately. Supervise CNAs and HHAs while ensuring meal services, activity schedules, and material resources meet resident needs. Interpret assessment data to develop care plans, process medical orders, and prepare incident reports for emergencies or policy violations. Assist residents with self-care and orient new staff members while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Recognize life-threatening situations and initiate appropriate action. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required with an active LPN/LVN or RN license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university
- Area of Study: Nursing
- 1+ years
- Nursing experience in a health care facility
- LPN/LVN or RN license
- current and active LOP license in the state of this community facility
- Acceptable fluency in English
- Proficient in clinical techniques such as, but not limited to, emergency procedures, skin management hydration therapy, and other nursing procedures
- Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile residents within the community
- Possess excellent supervisory skills
- Willingness to work harmoniously with all staff members
- Ability/willingness to continue education credits necessary to maintain licensure and certification
