Job Summary
Design scalable, secure, and efficient network solutions by developing short- and long-term technology strategies for firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure. Lead tactical architecture initiatives that modernize networking technologies while establishing best practices for deployment, monitoring, and incident response. Manage a team of network engineers through mentorship, performance reviews, and coaching to foster collaboration and continuous improvement. Coordinate resource allocation for timely problem resolution and optimize departmental budgets and financial operations. Serve as an expert consultant to business lines and clubs, analyzing needs to recommend integrated solutions and ensuring compliance with security standards. Manage vendor relationships for technology partners and solutions providers while documenting current network architectures and services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Six (6) to eight (8) years' experience in the integration of network and internet systems configuration and management
- Project management experience
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Strong knowledge of security standards (SSL/TLS, SSH)
- Strong knowledge of load balancing/clustering
- Strong knowledge of AD/LDAP integration
- Proven ability to architect solutions for applications and infrastructure in on-premises and cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Dynatrace, SolarWinds)
- Detailed knowledge of networking technologies, including Checkpoint Firewalls, Brocade Switches, Aruba Wireless Infrastructure, ClearPass Controllers (802.1X authentication solutions), Cisco Virtual Private Networking, IP Control DHCP appliances, VLAN configuration, BGP Configuration and Operation
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to listen and communicate technical subjects to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications Cisco (CCNP, CCIE), Checkpoint (CCSE, CCSM), etc.
