Job Summary
National Sales Manager for the West region will identify, develop, and contract new and repeat convention business from the designated regional market. Responsibilities include prospecting new accounts and conventions, organizing and planning sales calls, attending tradeshows and conferences, negotiating contracts and pricing, maintaining strong relationships with corporate purchasers, planners, buyers and other influencers, and delivering measurable revenue and room-night goals. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams (Convention Services, Catering, Hotel Operations) to execute client objectives, maintaining proposals and CRM records, and traveling for client visits, site inspections, and events, including evenings and weekends. Key skills include strategic sales planning, relationship-building, negotiation, CRM and data management, market and industry trend awareness, and exceptional communication and presentation abilities. Qualifications emphasize a High School Diploma, a Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, and at least three years of professional hotel sales experience in complex group business, with a proven track record in achieving revenue targets and managing national accounts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional hotel sales experience in complex group business
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and managing national corporate accounts
- Proficiency in contract negotiations, including structuring terms, pricing, concessions, and contractual language
- Strong understanding of corporate and group sales principles
- Proficiency in sales CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong skills in customer relations, presentations, problem solving, critical thinking, active listening, time management, and organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel evenings and weekends
- Work environment adaptability (office and hotel/casino)
