Job Summary
Manage daily production operations, including shop workflow, labor allocation, safety, quality, and on-time customer commitments. Directly supervise production employees by assigning work, monitoring performance, coaching, and addressing productivity concerns. Lead daily planning meetings to resolve constraints and align resources, while evaluating staffing needs for hiring, promotion, and discipline decisions. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for existing and new product lines. Use independent judgment to resolve production issues, adjust priorities, and escalate operational concerns. Ensure all safety procedures and quality programs are followed, conduct safety training, and coordinate equipment maintenance. Respond to customer issues and identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and labor utilization. Complete required paperwork and reporting accurately.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production, shop, manufacturing, service operations, or related experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, assign and prioritize work, manage performance, coach employees, resolve employee issues, and support employment-related recommendations
- minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, in accordance with company guidelines
- Must be able to perform basic arithmetic such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with employees, customers, leadership, and cross-functional partners
- Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong computer skills, including use of MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Extensive mechanical background
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, crouch, kneel, and use hands and arms for extended periods while performing assembly, testing, troubleshooting, inspection, and production support activities
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 70 pounds, with assistance or mechanical lifting devices as appropriate
- Use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to all safety procedures
- Regular and reliable in office attendance
