Job Summary
Conduct financial valuations of potential acquisition targets, including in-depth financial analysis of quality of earnings, normalization adjustments, and estimation of synergies. Develop and manage advanced Excel financial models to evaluate acquisition opportunities, organize virtual data rooms, and participate in buy-side transaction due diligence. Assist in preparing expressions of interest and letters of intent, contribute to investment presentations for Senior Leadership and the Board, and collaborate with internal diligence and post-merger integration teams. Work with external legal and financial advisors on transactions to ensure all aspects are covered while supporting the overall management and organization of deal files. This hybrid role is based out of Westland's Surrey, BC head office. The expected compensation is $110,400 to $138,000 for a 40-hour work week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of direct experience in Mergers & Acquisitions transaction environment, such as private equity, Big 4 Financial Advisory, investment banking, corporate finance, corporate development
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis expertise
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal communication, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs, responsibilities, and environments
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in dynamic environments
