Job Summary
Lead oversight of Medical Staff governance, including credentialing, peer review, and medical staff relations while ensuring compliance with TJC, DNV, CMS, and licensure standards. Serve as primary liaison for the CMO, physicians, and department chairs to coordinate information flow to the Board of Trustees and resolve physician satisfaction concerns. Manage the initial application and reappointment process, formulate professional practice reviews, and assist with department budgeting. Address day-to-day operational issues and facilitate privileging criteria approvals to support physician recruiting and retention.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of (5) years of experience in a Medical Staff Services Department
- at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity
- Current certification as a NAMSS Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
- achieve certification within three and a half years of employment
