Manager, Mechanical Engineering

Lead a team of mechanical engineers in the da Vinci Surgical System program, coaching and evaluating engineers, managing project priorities and budgets, and driving continuous improvement. Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and other groups to ensure designs meet patient needs, performance, and reliability. Require a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and a typical minimum of 5 years designing complex mechanical products; strong leadership, root-cause analysis, and knowledge of design controls (FMEAs, requirements traceability); experience with electro-mechanical design and diverse manufacturing processes; travel to supplier/manufacturing sites may be required. Preference for candidates with mechatronics experience in medical devices and exposure to SPC, post-market reliability, and regulated environments. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team and communicate effectively across all levels. Vaccination may be required by role.
