Job Summary
Manager, Marketing & BD Operations leads the Global BD Central Team and oversees two key domains—Pitching & BD and Matters—to deliver process, training, and data-driven improvements for the Marketing & Business Development function. The role manages day-to-day operations, coaching, and development of Coordinators in New York, drives cross-functional initiatives, defines and standardizes workflows, ensures quality of pitches, proposals and matter intelligence materials, and leads projects such as implementing a firm-wide work management system (ServiceNow). The successful candidate will combine domain expertise in MBD, strong project management, analytics, process optimization, and exceptional communication to support strategic marketing, client development, and firm-wide initiatives across a global team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of business development experience in a professional services firm or financial institution
- Strong IT skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to use initiative under competing demands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Understanding of how M&BD operations enable delivery of firm strategies
- Experience with BD tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed research and analysis and translate findings into outputs
- Knowledge of CRM data quality and usage; ability to collaborate with stakeholders
- Education to degree level or equivalent; CIM desirable; relevant marketing qualification
- 5+ years of business development experience in a professional services firm or financial institution (preferably related)
- Able to develop relationships and manage a large, global team across multiple locations
Desired Qualifications
- CIM marketing qualification is desirable
- Professional certification an advantage where appropriate
