Job Summary
Coordinate and perform risk assessment, monitoring, testing, and surveillance activities to ensure the compliance program remains current and aligned with BMO's regulatory, corporate, and fiduciary obligations. Advise business groups on implications of new regulatory developments, implement revised policies, and oversee the resolution of material control failures through root cause analysis and remediation validation. Analyze and report compliance data to gain insights on regulatory risk, consult on new products and automated systems, and represent the team during internal, external, and regulatory audits. Manage team performance by coaching employees, recognizing achievements, and fostering a culture aligned to BMO's purpose and values.
Required Qualifications
- Typically minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- post-secondary degree in related field of study
- Detailed knowledge of consumer protection regulations and related marketing and advertising guidelines
- Skilled knowledge of regulatory/ compliance requirements and the operations of a single client group
- May require experience at regulatory body for one or more compliance area(s)
- Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management and project management skills
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
