Job Summary
Manufacturing Production Manager at Saab, Inc. will lead the on-site production team in Grayling, MI, overseeing all technical production work from receipt of components through shipment of the final product and serving as a key liaison across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, facilities, safety, and quality. The role emphasizes driving continuous improvement, implementing manufacturing SOPs and work instructions, and applying Lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, 6S, Kanban, RCA) to achieve performance objectives in cost, schedule, safety, quality, and delivery. Candidates should have 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience (including 5+ years in munitions manufacturing/assembly or energetics), a bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (master’s preferred), strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 10% and obtain a Secret clearance. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field required
- Master’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline is preferred
- A strong candidate typically brings 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing or operations
- A strong candidate typically has a minimum of 5+ years of experience in munitions manufacturing/assembly, ammunition production or energetics
- Demonstrated ability to develop, revise, and implement Manufacturing SOPs and Work Instructions
- Willingness to travel up to 10% in support of program execution, customer engagements, and business development activities
- Capable of obtaining a Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
