Job Summary
Oversee on-site manufacturing operations in Grayling, MI, leading the Manufacturing Production Team to deliver high-quality products on time. Drive production development, establish best practices, and qualify new products in collaboration with engineering, supply chain, facilities, safety, and quality. Responsibilities include attracting and retaining production staff, guiding workflows and prioritization, supporting safety and process improvement, and driving continuous improvement with leadership to meet strategic objectives. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, 7+ years of leadership in manufacturing, 5+ years in munitions/energetics, Lean/Six Sigma experience, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, US citizenship, and willingness to travel up to 10%. On-site role with travel and security-screening requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing or operations
- 5+ years of experience in munitions manufacturing/assembly, ammunition production or energetics
- Demonstrated ability to develop, revise, and implement Manufacturing SOPs and Work Instructions
- Ability to forecast and manage resource requirements (labor, capital, equipment, and materials) to meet program cost, schedule, and performance objectives
- Ability to define, implement, and monitor KPIs tied to safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC)
- Strong background implementing Lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, 6S, Visual Management, Kanban, Root Cause Corrective Action)
- Strong problem-solving capability using structured methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel up to 10% in support of program execution, customer engagements, and business development activities
- Working experience in a matrix organization
- Capable of obtaining a Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Pre-employment drug screen required
- Security clearance eligibility for access to classified information
