Job Summary
Manufacturing Production Manager leads the Manufacturing Production Team and oversees on-site production operations in Grayling, MI, coordinating between manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, facilities, safety, and quality to deliver high-quality products. Responsibilities include attracting and retaining production staff, guiding workflows and process improvements, aligning with senior leadership, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and KPIs while supporting safety, cost, and on-time delivery; requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, 7+ years of leadership in manufacturing, experience in munitions/energetics, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and willingness to travel up to 10%; compensation range is $132,000–$171,600, with benefits and a security-conscious work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field required
- Master’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline is preferred
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing or operations
- 5+ years of experience in munitions manufacturing/assembly, ammunition production or energetics
- Ability to develop, revise, and implement Manufacturing SOPs and Work Instructions
- Forecast and manage resource requirements (labor, capital, equipment, and materials) to meet cost/schedule/performance objectives
- Define, implement, and monitor KPIs tied to safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC)
- Lean tools expertise (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, 6S, Visual Management, Kanban, RCBA)
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel up to 10% in support of program execution and business development
- Working experience in a matrix organization
- Capable of obtaining a Secret-level security clearance
- Citizenship requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen
