Job Summary
Manage the Product Value Stream from contract award to final customer delivery, ensuring accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Employee, and Cost expectations. Drive continuous improvements to meet SQDEC goals and execute daily management practices including Gemba, Obeya, and Stand-Ups. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Business Support to achieve site business goals while maintaining equipment according to preventative maintenance schedules. Lead talent development through performance management, coaching, and succession planning for Manufacturing Technicians and support functions. Provide inputs for customer proposals and basis of estimates for labor and schedule duration. Work the 2nd shift (1:00 pm – 10:30 pm) in San Diego, CA, requiring a Bachelor's degree, five years of relevant experience, and security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree
- 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Leadership experience, demonstrating an ability to lead, build and manage effective cross-functional teams in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Ability to solve problems and drive continuous improvements
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work flexible schedule, which may include weekends
- Knowledge and experience to develop and execute process standards focused on product area value streams and risk management identification and mitigation
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
