Job Summary

Manager Manufacturing Engineering role focused on ensuring the proper operation, integration, and optimization of laser cutting machines and automated presses on the production line, while potentially leading and coordinating a team of engineers. Responsibilities include overseeing performance of laser cutting equipment, integrating with feeders/robots/conveyors, diagnosing and resolving technical issues with maintenance and engineering teams, leading line start-ups and changeovers, optimizing process parameters to reduce waste and improve product quality, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards, driving continuous improvement (kaizen, downtime reduction, OEE), documenting processes and corrective actions, training operators/technicians/engineers, coordinating and potentially managing engineering teams, and contributing to new equipment/automation projects. Key competencies include problem-solving, accountability, leadership, communication, adaptability, systems thinking, and strong technical integration; required education is a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3–5 years in automated manufacturing with experience in CNC laser cutting, automation systems, PLCs, and reading electrical/mechanical diagrams. Top candidates will have project-leading experience and onsite work five days a week.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related field)
  • 3–5 years of experience in automated manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience in CNC laser cutting equipment
  • Automated presses or stamping systems
  • Integration of automation systems (robots, PLCs, sensors, conveyors)
  • Technical Knowledge: PLC programming and troubleshooting (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic diagrams
  • Industrial automation and control systems
  • Metal cutting and stamping processes
  • Continuous improvement tools (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma is a plus)
  • Performance metrics (OEE, scrap, downtime)
  • KPIs: Equipment uptime/availability, OEE, downtime reduction, scrap reduction, team performance and project execution
  • Leadership and team coordination capability
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management
  • Adaptability and sense of urgency
  • Systems thinking and technical integration capability
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3–5 years of experience in automated manufacturing environments
