Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance for a brand-new, highly automated metals service center in Columbus, MS, lead maintenance personnel, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include facility and equipment oversight, budgeting and cost control, safety/compliance per OSHA, reporting and data analysis, and on-call emergency response. Requires strong leadership, troubleshooting across mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, PLC/Ladder Logic knowledge, CMMS experience, and a track record in metals manufacturing. The role emphasizes strategic planning, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration with operations to improve equipment performance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
- Knowledge of PLC programming and Ladder Logic preferred
- Proficiency in CMMS (Asset Essentials or Aetos preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Analytical skills to troubleshoot problems and optimize processes
- Technical proficiency in machinery and facility systems
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills
- Experience in metals service centers or manufacturing preferred
