Job Summary
Manager responsible for safety compliance across two Alabama plants. Key duties include conducting regular safety audits and inspections to ensure OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory compliance; hazard identification and remediation (machine guarding, LOTO, ventilation for finishing/painting areas); development and delivery of safety training programs (new-hire orientation, forklift certification, toolbox talks on ergonomics and lifting); leading root-cause investigations for accidents or near-misses and implementing corrective actions; maintaining OSHA 300 logs, SDS, and equipment maintenance records; managing safety KPIs; establishing and facilitating safety committees at both locations; travel between Goodwater and Eclectic facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- Experience: 5+ years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Certifications: Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) is highly preferred
- Skills: Deep technical knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards, strong analytical problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Travel: Ability to travel regularly between the two Alabama facility locations
