Job Summary
Set the technical strategy for your team to build models predicting repayment behavior, prioritizing collections, and minimizing post-origination losses. Partner with product, risk, and engineering leaders to design, implement, and scale advanced ML solutions across the credit lifecycle. Mentor engineers and lead by example while defining operational processes to ensure technical sustainability and manage trade-offs. Drive ambiguity resolution from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture. This role is based in Europe (UK, Poland, or Spain) with a base pay range of £142,000 - £190,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in a technical field
- 8+ years of industry experience
- 3+ years managing engineers
- Background in financial services, specifically in credit / lending
- Hands-on experience in post-origination modeling
- Proficiency in machine learning
- Experience with tree-based models
- Experience with transformers
- Experience with deep learning
- Experience with agentic ML
- Strong engineering skills
- Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership
- Ability to move from low level language idioms all the way to the architecture of large systems
