Manager, Lender Capacity Building

Job Summary

Lead Aceli's lender capacity building program by owning strategy, translating priorities into annual workplans, and managing engagements across Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Coordinate provider procurement, oversee technical delivery, and drive monitoring, evaluation, and learning to ensure program quality and donor reporting. Manage the full program budget, including lender co-investments, while collaborating with Country Teams, Impact & Learning, and external advisory firms. Report to the Associate Director, Innovation & Partnerships, with a deadline of August 31st, 2026 for applications requiring a cover letter.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in advisory or experience working in/ with financial institutions
  • Demonstrated understanding of agricultural lending practices in sub-Saharan Africa
  • Knowledge of agri-SME credit appraisal
  • Knowledge of loan structuring
  • Knowledge of portfolio risk management
  • Proven project management skills
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous assignments
  • Experience managing external service providers
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to conduct financial institution diagnostics
  • Ability to interpret portfolio data
  • Ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations
