Job Summary
Manage the day-to-day operation of the hospital laboratory, serving as the operational partner to the CLIA Medical Director. Oversee laboratory staffing, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and customer service while representing the lab to hospital leadership and commercial clients. Schedule and deploy staff to meet patient care needs, ensure equipment and inventory are maintained, and perform bench duties as required. Lead team development, implement policies, and drive quality improvement initiatives to maintain inspection readiness and achieve organizational goals. Work Monday through Friday with on-call rotation and occasional weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Monday-Friday 0800-1700 with on-call, occasional weekends, and other shifts as needed
- Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical technology, or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences, chemical sciences, laboratory sciences, or equivalent
- Completion of an official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training course of at least 50 weeks duration and having held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician)
- Two (2) years relevant high-complexity clinical laboratory experience
- Previous supervisory, lead, charge technologist, or management experience
- Applicable certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) as required by assigned laboratory discipline
