Job Summary
Oversee the overall operation of the clinical laboratory in collaboration with Medical Directors and Regional Clinical Laboratory Directors. Lead development and monitoring of financial, contracting, regulatory, accreditation, and client-services policies; select instrumentation/test methodologies; develop and maintain QA programs; supervise and direct personnel; prepare technical reports; coordinate reporting of results; participate in developing new laboratory procedures; plan and present workshops; ensure regulatory compliance and safe working environment; develop quality control programs; monitor QA and safety practices; manage multiple laboratory service elements across specialties; ensure adherence to accrediting standards; supervise staff and budgets; coordinate with Laboratory Directors and Finance on financial matters; and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent; required
- Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in the state of employment (CA); required
- American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA); required/essential per CA and HI
- ASCP certification required per facility licensing requirements
