Job Summary
Oversee administrative and technical supervision of the regional core lab, including planning, monitoring, and organizing daily operations. Lead the development, setup, and validation of core laboratory assays while ensuring accurate, timely, and cost-effective reporting of results. Direct and control day-to-day laboratory activities, manage inventory control for supplies and reagents, and analyze budget and cost fluctuations to optimize material usage. Ensure continuous compliance with CAP, state, and federal regulations through ongoing quality assurance and risk management programs. Provide coaching, counseling, and in-service training for staff while maintaining employee records for attendance and competency.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge clinical laboratory services
- Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences
- Certification/registration - Clinical Laboratory Scientist with ASCP
- Five (5) years of experience in a high volume clinical lab required
- Three (3) to five (5) years or more experience of supervisory/management in clinical laboratory operations
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
- Effectively mitigate situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher preferred
- Knowledge of CAP, state, and federal laboratory regulations
