Job Summary
Own global procurement strategy for SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and technology services, justifying every investment against growth targets. Negotiate complex agreements with major vendors like AWS and Microsoft, securing pricing based on actual usage patterns rather than standard rate cards. Identify overlapping tools and underused licenses to eliminate waste, then hold vendors accountable through performance scorecards measuring uptime, adoption, and business outcomes. Deploy AI-powered tools for spend analytics and contract analysis, working with engineers to push automation further from document extraction to predictive renewal management. Build dashboards providing leadership real-time visibility into technology spend and vendor risk while partnering with Engineering and Legal on build-versus-buy decisions. Mentor procurement professionals to develop analytical rigour and negotiation skills within a rapidly scaling global organisation.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years across IT procurement, technology vendor management, or strategic sourcing
- Experience negotiating enterprise agreements with major cloud and SaaS providers
- Knowledge of which contract clauses matter and which ones are theatre
- Ability to hold your own in conversations with engineers, architects, and infrastructure teams
- Understanding of why one platform costs three times more than another and whether it is worth it
- Comfort with data tools
- Excitement about what AI can do for procurement
- Capability to fix broken procurement models, analytics dashboards, and governance frameworks
- Ability to deliver results navigating obstacles including regulatory constraints, budget pressures, and stakeholder politics
- Experience building performance scorecards measuring uptime against SLA commitments, actual adoption versus purchased seats, and business outcomes versus sales promises
- Experience designing vendor governance that is rigorous without being bureaucratic
- Experience deploying AI-powered tools for spend analytics, contract analysis, and market benchmarking
- Experience working with AI engineers to push procurement automation further from document extraction and approval routing to predictive renewal management
- Experience building dashboards and reporting for leadership visibility into technology spend, vendor risk, and commercial performance
- Experience partnering with Engineering and Infrastructure on build-versus-buy decisions
- Experience working with Legal on contract structures that protect the business without killing deal velocity
- Ability to anticipate vendor market shifts including acquisitions, pricing model changes, and emerging alternatives
- Experience mentoring and developing procurement professionals who think commercially
- Capability to build the capabilities needed to support a rapidly scaling global organisation including analytical rigour, negotiation skill, and vendor market knowledge
