Job Summary

Own earnings preparation by leading the development of presentations, scripts, Q&A, and supporting analyses with the VP of Investor Relations. Read the market to develop deep understanding of investor sentiment, analyst expectations, and market perception, translating these into clear insights for management. Analyze and interpret investor feedback, analyst research, peer disclosures, and industry developments to identify implications for communications and positioning. Act as a thought partner on investor sentiment, market expectations, competitive positioning, and external perception. Bridge FP&A and IR to understand operating performance, forecast assumptions, and key business drivers, translating internal trends into investor-relevant insights. Partner with Capital Markets and Corporate Development on capital-raising activity, focusing on consistency of metrics and narrative. Anticipate the Street by analyzing the relationship between company performance and investor expectations to help management anticipate questions and reactions. Surface disconnects between internal expectations and external models, recommending approaches to messaging, disclosure, and engagement. Develop the analyst by guiding and reviewing their work to raise the analytical quality of the function's output.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in equity research, investment banking, management consulting, strategic finance, investor relations, or a similarly analytical field
  • Strong command of financial statements, operating metrics, valuation frameworks, and public company disclosures
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial and market information into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in markets, investors, competitors, and business performance
  • A genuine desire to mentor and develop a direct report while remaining hands-on in the work
  • Presence in our San Francisco or San Jose office location 4 days per week
  • Lambda's designated work from home day is currently Tuesday

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior investor relations experience
  • Experience with companies that need to raise significant amounts of capital, or with capital-intensive businesses
  • Experience with highly technical or complex business models
  • A track record of advancement within a single firm rather than frequent job changes
  • Familiarity with AI, cloud infrastructure, or adjacent technology sectors
