Job Summary
Lead the Budget process for Vote Health and develop advice on investment priorities and funding sustainability. Drive value-for-money assessments, investment readiness, and strategic initiatives aligned with Ministry objectives. Build collaborative relationships across the health sector and government; mentor and develop the team; monitor risks and maintain clear, transparent communication with leadership. Strong policy-analysis, stakeholder engagement, and exceptional written communication to translate complex health policy issues for Ministers and government audiences. Based in Wellington, contributing to health outcomes for New Zealand.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in leading a policy team
- Familiarity with public service finance and the government Budget process
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship-building
- Leadership experience in public service
- Understanding of equity in policy making
