Manager, InterOperability Architecture

Job Summary

Define and maintain the enterprise interoperability architecture strategy, establishing standards for APIs, interfaces, and event-driven integrations across clinical, financial, and operational systems. Lead a team of engineering and product ownership resources through hiring, coaching, and capacity management while designing scalable integration solutions between EHRs, cloud platforms, and vendor applications. Build and support middleware, troubleshoot complex data exchange issues, and implement monitoring practices to ensure secure, reliable connectivity. Partner with business leaders, vendors, and technology teams to translate organizational goals into platform capabilities, driving long-term interoperability maturity and supporting acquisitions. Establish architectural documentation and reference designs to align solutions with security, governance, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Informa Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of healthcare information technology experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing integration or interoperability solutions
  • Experience designing enterprise architecture for healthcare technology environments
  • Experience building and scaling interoperability capabilities, platforms, or programs from an early-stage or transformational environment
  • Experience leading technical teams and delivering complex technology initiatives
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups including business, clinical, operational, and technical teams
  • Experience with several of the following: HL7 v2.x FHIR REST APIs SOAP services Healthcare interoperability standards Integration engines and middleware platforms Cloud integration architectures Event-driven architectures Enterprise application integration Authentication and authorization frameworks API management platforms Data integration and transformation solutions SQL and database technologies Software development and application architecture

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in home health, hospice, post-acute care, or healthcare services organizations
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale system integrations
  • Experience with Epic, HCHB, or other healthcare clinical platforms
  • Experience building enterprise API platforms
