Job Summary
Manager, Insights, Strategy & Analytics for Unscripted Series responsibilities include embedding with internal teams as the face of research on assigned titles; delivering holistic insights from primary, secondary, and social data; producing and presenting insights deliverables (e.g., performance memos, social analysis, franchise insights); leading title research including design, fieldwork, and execution of primary studies (IP evaluation, concept explorations, pilot testing, season diagnostics); generating material across the title lifecycle (sales, brand partnerships, consumer products, experiences); managing projects with internal stakeholders and external vendors; coordinating with partners across Sony Pictures Entertainment; contributing to cross-functional teams; representing genre expertise internally and developing a roadmap of projects; communicating insights clearly to senior leaders and various teams; and liaising between the US/Culver City team in all areas (TV Production Insights, Data Analytics); plus Team Leadership activities to collaborate with team members and build relationships with creative, marketing, and partners.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in media and entertainment research, market intelligence, data analytics, social data analytics, and/or business strategy or consulting
- Expert understanding of TV landscape, including linear networks, digital/SVOD platforms, and emerging media platforms
- Experience with Nielsen Ratings viewership measurement (NNTV, NPower, SVOD Content Ratings, Total Content Ratings), Ad Intel, and with digital (AVOD, VOD, SVOD etc.)
- Experience with social and YouTube measurement to report on social campaign performance, identify trending content and audience behaviors and familiar with tools like Talkwalker, Tubular, and TikTok analytics
- Familiarity with or fluency in managing qualitative and quantitative primary research projects
- Proficiency with analytical tools like Tableau and in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Economics, Psychology, Social Sciences, Data Science, or related fields
- Strong interpersonal, consensus-building skills, with ability to communicate and achieve results across multiple stakeholders
